I thought if I put an exclamation point at the end of the title it would attract more readers?! I have spent today working on my site!! All I did was create categories for my posts, which are available on the righthand side of each page. I thought it would be fun if people could check out the subjects they’re most interested in and look back at some of the (wonderful!) posts I’ve written over the years.
This site started out of my enthusiasm for gardening (and writing), well before 2013, which is when I started this incarnation of my website. I started it through Apple blogs, or whatever it was called at the time. I loved it and it worked really well, but I guess they decided to get out of the blogging business so I had to move my site somewhere else. That ended up being a lot of work, but I did it because I was still super into writing about gardening.
Then my interest in gardening started to ebb and my interest in the world at large started to flow. I had a dilemma last February where I wondered whether to cancel this website and start something else without “Garden” in the title, but I ended up deciding to keep this site going and to think about the Tranquil Garden as a metaphor as well as something concrete. After rereading many of my earlier posts and checking out the various photo galleries today, I’m glad I decided to keep it. I’m proud of my website and all the work I’ve put into it! It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s been a great vehicle for me to express my ideas, my enthusiasm for various subjects, a lot of introspection, etc..
I hope you’ve been enjoying my posts as much as I have enjoyed writing them, loyal readers! Please feel free to check out my old posts using the new categories to guide your meandering. I will be continuing to post into the foreseeable future, with many possible tangents available. Covid 19 is just adding fuel to the fire of my imagination. I’ll soon be retiring and my plan is to devote my time to writing, knitting, and video podcasting (The Guilty Knitter, on Youtube!) and, of course, gardening during the summer months. I will have no shortage of subjects to write about on Vivian’s Tranquil Garden!
Here’s a lovely video by my daughter, Erica Lee Martin, assuring you that everything’s fine!! Enjoy!
I love to hear from you!
